RBI appoints S. Ganesh Kumar as New Executive Director
The Reserve Bank of India has announced appointment of S. Ganesh Kumar as Executive Director (ED).
 
Ganesh Kumar will succeed Chandan Sinha.
India and Russia sign pacts on PM’s visit there
PM Modi is on a visit to Russia where agreements were signed between the two nations.
 
Marking 70 years of diplomatic ties, countries have signed the St Petersburg Declaration – an action plan for deepening not only political and economic development of the two countries but also to ensure a benchmark of stability in times of global instability.

Shri Gadkari launches INAM-Pro + platform
The Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari has launched INAM-Pro +. INAM-Pro+ is an upgraded version of INAM-Pro, the web portal designed by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) and launched by the Ministry two years back as a common platform to bring cement buyers and sellers together.
 
Telangana launches official e-wallet for digital payments
Telangana became the first state in the country to launch official e-wallet.
 
The T-Wallet, the official digital wallet of the state, offering anytime anywhere platform for digital payments with no additional charge for the citizens.
The wallet supports Telugu, Urdu and English languages.
Maharashtra govt launches Mahaswayam portal for job seekers
Maharashtra government  has launched a web portal called ‘Mahaswayam’.
 
It will provide service to job seekers, employers, entrepreneurs, and training institutes who can fetch details regarding skill development and employment.

Telecomm services provider Bharti Airtel has received approvals from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) for the proposed scheme of merger between Airtel and Telenor (India) Communications Private Ltd.
 
Earlier in February, Airtel had announced its definitive agreement with Telenor South Asia Investments Pte Ltd.

Iceland rated world’s most peaceful country, India 137th
Iceland has been named the world’s most peaceful country, topping the Global Peace Index for the tenth consecutive year. Iceland is followed by New Zealand and Portugal
 
India is ranked 137 out of 163.
Syria has been named the least peaceful country.
UN General Assembly elects Slovakia’s Miroslav Lajcak as next president
Slovak foreign minister Miroslav Lajcak has been elected as the President of 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. He will succeed Fijian diplomat Peter Thomson.
